Job Title: Shopify & Website Coordinator
Department: Marketing / E-commerce
Reports to: Chief Marketing Officer
Location: Somerset West (Hybrid Role)
Job Purpose:
We’re looking for a Shopify & Website Coordinator to take full ownership of our online store and become the go-to person for anything website-related. This role is ideal for someone who’s tech-savvy, highly curious, and eager to learn. From managing product listings and apps to troubleshooting bugs and optimising layouts, this person will help keep our Shopify site sharp, high-performing, and aligned with our growth objectives.
Whether it’s a layout tweak, performance improvement, or a 0.2% boost in conversion rate - this role is about owning the detail and caring about the bigger picture.
Key Responsibilities:
Shopify Site Management & Content:
● Manage and update product listings, collections, banners, navigation menus, and static
pages.
● Ensure the site is visually aligned with campaigns and always mobile-optimised, fast,
and user-friendly.
● Maintain metafields across products, collections, and pages to enable advanced layouts
and filtering.
● Export and manage discount codes, product uploads, and other bulk data via CSV.
App & Integration Oversight:
● Install, configure, and test third-party Shopify apps (e.g. reviews, upsells, shipping tools,
loyalty programs).
● Maintain integrations and settings related to Shopify, DNS records, and Google
Workspace.
● Troubleshoot bugs or performance issues and escalate to developers or external
support when needed.
Performance Monitoring & Optimisation:
● Monitor site performance using basic tools (e.g. Shopify Analytics, Google Analytics,
Hotjar).
● Identify user journey bottlenecks and support CRO (Conversion Rate Optimisation)
efforts.
● Suggest improvements based on performance data and campaign effectiveness.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
● Work closely with marketing, design, and product teams to ensure product and
campaign pages are accurate and engaging.
● Support ad-hoc technical needs, like landing page tweaks or temporary changes for
promotions.
Innovation & Process Improvement:
● Continuously research tools, apps, and trends in Shopify or e-commerce to bring new
ideas to the table.
● Look for ways to automate tasks, reduce manual work, and streamline web operations.
Key Requirements:
Qualifications:
● Diploma or degree in Marketing, E-commerce, Digital Media, Information Systems, or a
related field is advantageous.
● Shopify certifications or relevant short courses are a plus.
Experience:
● 1–2 years of experience in e-commerce, digital marketing, website admin, or a similar
role.
● Exposure to Shopify is preferred, but not essential if the candidate is a fast learner with a
proactive attitude.
Skills and Competencies:
● Tech-savvy with a strong interest in web tools, app integrations, and systems.
● Basic understanding of SEO, HTML/CSS, and user experience principles.
● Highly organised with attention to detail - can spot when things are off or broken.
● Curious and self-driven - not afraid to Google, test, and learn by doing.
● Data-aware - understands how site changes can impact sales or conversions.
● Comfortable handling CSVs, basic analytics, and backend platforms.
